SEASON 3

EPISODE 8:

Understanding Keywords And How ChatGPT Can Help You Get Found

What is a keyword (and why should you care)? In this episode, I talk to Harry Sanders from award-winning SEO agency Studiohawk. And should you use Chat GPT to find the best keywords or not? We unpack what every busy business owner needs to know right here.

What is a keyword (in simple terms)?

A keyword is something that someone puts into the Google search or search bar of a website to find information.

Why do you need them?

76% of traffic is coming from organic search so being to be found requires understanding buyer intent through keywords.

How to use them

Think about what people are searching for when they look for your product. Use that to create content for your website that talks to those keywords or solutions.

How do we determine what keywords to use on our website, blogs, and other marketing?

  • What are the different categories you have of your products or services? Each one should have a separate page on your website (e.g; don’t have one services page).  Get specific and use keywords that are relevant to the content.
  • Try using SEM Rush to do your keyword research.
  • Putting keywords into Google is not the best way to find the right ones for you. You really need to see the search volumes on the keywords and you cannot see this in Google.

Should you use ChatGPT for keyword research?

You need to include the EEAT framework on each page for your products

  • Experience
  • Expertise
  • Authority
  • Trust

The more popular your website the more often it gets indexed by Google.

Top 3 tips for time-poor busy business owners that don’t have much time to do what they should be doing

  1. Think about the structure and content of your website
  2. Learn about how it works so you have an understanding of it
  3. Apply what you learn
